Industry newsFDA expands Anktiva plus BCG to high-grade papillary-only bladder cancer.
The FDA broadened the approval of nogapendekin alfa inbakicept (Anktiva) with BCG to adults whose non-muscle invasive bladder cancer no longer responds to BCG and is high-grade papillary-only — not just carcinoma in situ. In the QUILT-3.032 study (77 patients), 62% had a complete response, and 58% of those responses lasted at least 12 months. Note that the FDA extended the findings from the carcinoma in situ group rather than running a separate trial in papillary-only disease.

Industry newsFDA approves atezolizumab plus chemotherapy after surgery for stage III dMMR colon cancer.
Atezolizumab (Tecentriq) combined with chemotherapy is now approved as adjuvant treatment — given after surgery — for stage III colon cancer that is mismatch repair deficient (dMMR). In the ATOMIC trial of 711 adults, adding atezolizumab cut the risk of the cancer returning or death by half (hazard ratio 0.50) compared with chemotherapy alone. Whether a tumor is dMMR is determined by lab testing, so it's a good question to ask your oncology team about.

Industry newsFDA approves tucatinib maintenance for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer.
Tucatinib (Tukysa) added to trastuzumab and pertuzumab is now approved as maintenance treatment after initial induction therapy for unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. In the HER2CLIMB-05 trial of 654 adults, median progression-free survival was 24.9 months with tucatinib versus 16.3 months with placebo. Overall survival data are still maturing.

Industry newsFDA approves pirtobrutinib for previously untreated CLL and SLL.
Pirtobrutinib (Jaypirca), a BTK inhibitor, is now approved for adults with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma who have no known 17p deletion. In the BRUIN CLL-313 trial of 282 patients, it substantially lowered the risk of progression or death compared with bendamustine plus rituximab (hazard ratio 0.20). Overall survival data were immature at the time of analysis.

Industry newsFDA shortens post-infusion monitoring for tarlatamab in small cell lung cancer.
The FDA approved a label update cutting required monitoring after each of the first two tarlatamab (Imdelltra) doses from up to 24 hours down to 6–8 hours, with a follow-up vitals check the next day. For patients being treated for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, that's a meaningful reduction in time spent in a clinical setting for a drug that otherwise requires hospitalization for early doses.

Industry newsFDA approves first PET imaging agent for telling recurrent glioma from treatment effects.
Pixclara (floretyrosine F 18) is the first FDA-approved FET-PET imaging agent for glioma, helping doctors distinguish a tumor that's actually growing back from tissue changes caused by prior treatment — something standard MRI often can't tell apart. For patients living with the uncertainty of an ambiguous follow-up scan, that distinction can directly change what happens next.

Industry newsFDA approves lutetium Lu 177 dotatate for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
Based on results from the ERASMUS study, the FDA approved lutetium Lu 177 dotatate injection (Bexlutry) for adults with somatostatin receptor-positive GEP-NETs. It's a targeted radiotherapy option for a rarer tumor type that has historically had few approved treatments — search ClinicalMatch for trials currently recruiting for neuroendocrine tumors.

Industry newsFDA expands sevabertinib approval to newly diagnosed HER2-mutant lung cancer.
Sevabertinib (Hyrnuo) was already approved for HER2-mutant non-squamous NSCLC after prior treatment; the FDA has now expanded that accelerated approval to patients regardless of prior systemic therapy. In practice, that means newly diagnosed patients with this specific mutation can now be considered for it as an earlier option, not just after other treatments have been tried.

Industry newsFDA grants accelerated approval to camizestrant for ESR1-mutated breast cancer.
Camizestrant (Etcamah) plus a CDK4/6 inhibitor was approved for HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer where an ESR1 mutation develops during treatment — a resistance mechanism that previously left patients with fewer good options. In the trial behind the approval, median progression-free survival nearly doubled compared to the prior standard combination.

ClinicalMatch updateWhy we're building ClinicalMatch.
Fewer than 5% of U.S. cancer patients ever join a clinical trial, while research sites struggle to fill the very same studies. After fifteen years planning global trials, our founder saw the disconnect up close — and started building the navigator she wished patients had. Read the full story on our About page.
